Pro bono opportunities for all areas of practice are presented: litigators, transactional attorneys, and mediators. There are varying levels of time commitments and opportunities for limited scope representation to opportunities to provide legal advice at the Ask A Lawyer clinic held monthly at the Shreveport Bar Center, community education and outreach clinics, and mediation of legal disputes.
Volunteering pro bono time is a much-needed community service only attorneys can provide. The real point is to make a difference in life because you have a license to practice law and can, and the attorney’s oath suggests we do so: “I will never reject from any consideration personal to myself the cause of the defenseless or oppressed or delay any person’s cause for lucre or malice.”
Please take a few minutes to complete a Pro Bono Volunteer Form and return it via email to lespree@shreveportbar.com. If you have any volunteer questions, please contact Lucy at (318) 703-8381.
